Authentic Timor Island mask on iron stand. Unique handcrafted tribal mask carved from a single wood in Indonesia. Beautiful scroll work adorns the face especially the crown and cheeks with a lovely patina. Traditionally these masks were used to cover faces or worn for ceremonial purposes and to protect the home and repel bad spirits. These masks are not to be worn but to adorn houses as a decorative feature intended to make contact with the spirits of ancestors.
